Full and partial grants
Research Access Grants may cover 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of eligible canXcer project-access costs for an approved project and period. The award percentage reflects the project’s reviewed need and scope.
Award levels
An application is not a promise of an award. When an application is selected, the approved percentage and eligible access costs are documented before access begins.

Decision factors
The clarity and strength of the research question, hypothesis, rationale, and proposed approach.
Whether the proposed work can be responsibly completed within the requested scope and current platform capabilities.
The importance of the question and the value of the evidence or decision the work could produce.
The applicant’s access constraints, research gaps, and need for governed computational infrastructure.
Alignment with available canXcer methods, evidence, compute, governance, review, and capacity.
A clearly identified project, team, period, data description, expected outcome, and next-step plan.
Award questions
The award covers an approved percentage of eligible canXcer project-access costs. It is not unrestricted cash funding.
The percentage is determined through private review of scientific merit, clarity, feasibility, potential impact, resource need, access gaps, platform fit, and available grant capacity.
No. Research access and compute entitlement are separate. A 100% research-access grant does not provide unlimited GPU usage. Compute requires an explicit allowance with resource, cost, per-job, concurrency and expiration limits. Every award remains limited to its approved project, team, period, methods and agreement terms.
No. canXcer does not automatically own a researcher’s work or pre-existing IP. Any applicable commercialization, licensing, IP, revenue-participation, or other terms are defined in the project-specific agreement before access is awarded.
No. Submission begins private eligibility review and does not guarantee an award, percentage, project, workspace, or researcher role.
